In winter, the car should normally be left in the village of San Martino and you can reach us with an hour's walk.
If there is little snow, you can reach the Val di Mello car park and you will be with us in 20 minutes, but access to this car park is limited to only 40 cars per day.
The pass is issued by a machine in front of the tourist office (you need to have a lot of money) and as I said it only releases 40 passes a day.
In winter, with the snow-covered road it may be that the machine that issues the pass is not active as the road is not practicable.
It depends on the conditions but in Val di Mello even if there is a lot of snow the path is well beaten.
You can climb well even with boots only but if you have crampons they can be useful for any icy stretches.
And if you have snowshoes, you can leave the path and move around the valley at your leisure.
